Welcome and thank you for visiting our website. As one of the founders of the Police Emerald Society of the Hudson Valley I am honored and privileged to serve as the first president. Our society, which was formed in October of 2012 is proud to have over 170 members. Most of our members are Police and Peace Officers from over 45 federal, state and local Police Departments in the Hudson Valley. We also have several members from the FDNY and other local fire departments. We are proud to have several attorneys and a retired judge as members of our society. Our membership has varying degrees from police membership to honorary membership and each degree comes with certain privileges and responsibilities. If you are not a police or peace officer and want to be an honorary member you must first be recommended by a member in good standing. You must be of good moral character and be like minded in the goals and objectives of the society and the police in general.
We are hoping to hold several events over the next year. These events will not only raise money for our society, which will be used for scholarships and to assist other local and national charities, but to promote friendship and fraternity between our members and the members of the Hudson Valley community. Keep an eye on the events page of this website and please come out and enjoy one of our events, you will not regret it.
I would like to thank our webmaster Jim Kane from the Orange County Sheriff’s Department for putting together and updating this tremendous website. I would also like to thank Paul Harrington from the New York State Corrections for putting together a wonderful newsletter each month, please take a moment to check them out. I hope everyone has a safe and happy new year and God bless.
